MARINA'S STAR:Changes in The Spanish Educational System Overview: The game. : THE GAME.

Changes in The Spanish Educational System Overview: The game.

Hello there!!

I’m Marina G. the Star of this group. This role consist in represent the whole hard-work we’ve done during last week, in the Big Day all together as a group.

My experience as a Star

My experience as a Star is great because I loved working with my mates in the class, helping one another to get a whole map unifying concepts, However it is a small portion of work and could have a lot more information included into the work, so once again I will use my best efforts to improve the work for next week!! So I will get my finger out once more for next week!! This is a brief beginning in my post, I ask you to read the rest of it, please.

At first sight, in this paragraph I will talk about being a Star seems to be very difficult because people ussually get nervous when they have to talk in front of a public, in this case in front of our class, as it happens to me as well. But there is a solution for this issues that I am going to explain in the next paragraph. Then, I will talk about being a Star in this task in particular, because this experience is a bit different since we’ve never done an exposition like this before in high school at least in my case, also it is different from the other exposition done it within the class but I must say that it’s gone very well. We’ve put in common the content with other people in the class in a successful way. For conclude, in the last pararagrah I want to be self-criticism with the work.
First of all, It is good being nervous in a ‘Star exhibition’ because it is something new for us we‘ve never done it before neither high school and in some case I should admit it is my case as also happens in other Stars within the class. In my opinion, feeling nervous make us being wide awake and taking self-care about all the little details when one is realizing the presentation in order to manage a brilliant work during the ‘Big day’. Besides, it depends on the personality of the Star of each week, because of there are different kind of personalities in a team. It wont be the same experience for a shy person than a self-confident one, thus the first one will need to be previously self-conscious about the situation and imaging the state in their mind before the ‘Big day’ more than the confident person, or a open-minded person. The main idea of this is experience is tha the star has to be very well prepared for that and for represent the big effort of the whole team’s hard work behind it.

Secondly, this particular experience (Task 6) it is very useful. As I said at the beginning, this task consist in helping one another between three teams in the class to get a whole map unifying concepts, However it is a small portion of work and could have a lot more information included into the work that we will present the next time when we are required to do so. We were mixed into groups according with our topics, (in my group the topics were the following ones:

1-  OVERVIEW of the educational system and 4-Organizational variations and alternative structures in primary education )
So, there were two work-teams in this task.

One part of our group, divided for the teacher, were called ‘native group’  the members were Ángela, Noelia, and Elena. They analized the topic 4 altogether with the ‘Power Teachers’ called ‘visitors’ and its member were Maria, Alba Garcia, Anthea y Marina Crevillent plus a person from the outside of this teams called ‘The Alien Star’ who was Ana López from the ‘Busy bees’’ team she was ask to evaluate each person of the ‘mixed groups’ following criterias decided from both teams ( my team-à keep calm and keep organized and the other teamà Power Teachers)

The other part, were also mixed in the way I’m explaining now. My second part of the group were named ‘Visitors’ their task consist in analyzed the schema of the Busy-Bees’ taking into account important criteria like: a good lecture, good connectors between textboxs, good contents, good English expression and really important one: the coherence of their work. This work’s ‘Alien Star’ was from the team ‘Power Teachers’ who was Rebeca. Aliens’ role as I explain before was to evaluate this mixed group as a person separated from her group, that is, evaluating alone by themselves.
Moreover, every team send their  opposite team’s conceptual map’s evaluation.

*Little reflection as a student*
I want to be autocritic with this tasks and from my point of view, this kind of work is very competitive with others within the class, and it has a positive side but also a negative one. The positive thing is that ourselves becomes hard workers, ambitious, competitive according to get better results. The negative thing is the way we manage it. As sometimes we become also competitive with our mates to get our best. We should consider them not just a mate who has to hand some assignment in time and the next day we are done. I do not want this relation between my future primary students as a future teacher. I want my students be trustworthy and to help each other within the class, as well. In general, this activities do not promote it. I hope it is just a first step of working in groups and before the end of the course we will be more comfortable with this kind of assignment but at the beginning it came so fast, we we must realized what is going on there!

You MUST HAVE A LOOK of our work in the second part of this post that I am going to upload the two conceptual map created by all of us. PLEASE!

I’m going to explain the conceptual maps’ contents of the two topics we’ve been working this morning in class.

We have worked in tow step of this work which have five steps. In the First STEP we’ve explored the current Spanish Educational System and the previous one, in order to better understand it as a future primary teachers. We have learn the basics of the LOMCE and its differents between the previous one which is the LOE. So we did a conceptual map from the topic 1 called Overview (of the Spanish educational system) and another map for the topic 4 called ORGANIZATIONAL VARIATIONS AND ALTERNATIVE STRUCTURES IN PRIMARY EDUCATION.
In the topic 1, we have discussed aspects such as:

- Basics ones which are general aspects for LOE an LOMCE
*The main objectives of the educational law (improve educational results, prepare students for being citizens). *The principles of the law which increase in the school autonomy, multilingualism, more knowledge in the information and educational technologies and implementation of the values.

- Specific aspects which are:

*Secundary education at the end of the stage students receive Lower compulsory Education Certificate that allows them to access upper secondary schools and to go to the working world, ages 12-16. It is study in secondary schools. It provides more hours in core subjects and less hours in artistic subjects and removed the subject citizenship education.
*Bachillerato provided in secondary schools, it is the two finally academic years. It also provides more hours in core subjects. The way to pass bachillerato is doing an external exam
* Provide Basic vocational training to students aged 15-17.*Advanced vocational training. It is able to access with bachiller certificate or with a medium grade technician.* In High education there are professional studies and also university.* Adult education (people aged over 18) it is provided in ordinary schools  and in specific schools for adults.*Specialized education such as language, artistic and sport education. In the SECOND STEP that we develop this morning  was called REVIEWING AND UNIFYING MAPS In the BIG group session. We were in charge of review the CMaps about one of the topics we have studied using a rubric, and we have unified the Concept Map in one that collect every data.
