Analyst post

Hello mates again, I'm Noelia Hernández and this time I´m the analyst of my group.
For first time, we hadn't to meet. We divided the activity in 2 groups each kimd of leadership. For instance, Holly and me were the participant leaders and we had to create a perfil in Fakebook. So, we decided that our representated was Holly Rose and we made the photo of Holly. I think that sincerely, this activity was something strange, due to it is very easy comparared with the other activity that we have done. Moreover, we helped our star(Clara) in order to facilitate and summed up the all the information.
The best moment, it could be the day that we heared that we had to do other acitivity, it was like "one more". We looked betweed us and it was a funny moment. Ans the bad moment, really we don't have many, but probably I could say when Holly and me started the activity, we read the activity in resources of SOyER and we don't undestand nothing, so we started to opresse.
Futhermore, we have learned to understand the different types of liderships:

The Authoritarian leaders are based on manipulation and overlap reward loyalty over merit, what’s more, is insensitive to race and gender, and displays little emotion or affection toward employees.

Transactional leaders are based in the dual organization where the bureaucratic side conflicts with the professional one. Leaders motivate workers by offering rewards for what the leaders need done.

Transformational leaders are focus in the diversity of thought, and inclusiveness for all races and gender, the dignity and respect for the rights.

Participative leaders control throught dignity and change the workplace.  Moreover is type of leadership, it respects diversity in team members. It is type of leader mix the respect the workers with a bit of authority in the workers. The key of this leader gives a command to control all members of the enterprise. I't is a bit more light that authority leaders.
Maybe, for the next week that we met that is nort possible, owing to the activity's subject have finished, but I could advise that we would continue in the same way.We work very hard every single week in order to do the work the best way that it was possible.
The content of this subject can be relationed with the subject of "Teorías e instituciones" due to during the all life we have lived with different types of government since more dictatorial to liberal like the authority leaderships.

Finally, I can write that all it is relationed with social connection. The society always tries to manipulate the reality in order to beneficiate for one cause. And we realised that for example some types of liderships are manipulated, but on the contrary there are other types like Transformational leaders and Transactional leaders are a good way in order to carry out an activity of lidership

The world always has moved for one caused, due to maybe we can not advance.

Leadership Task by a Journalist!

The dynamic of this task is involved in doing a debate within the class.
                                            ***

First of all, the teacher ask for the star of each group to pick a number from 1 to 9, so according to the number they say the will be asignate a role in the debate. The roles are four different leadership for each couple, because the stars will work in pairs and also it will be a referee in the discussion. The leaderships are authoritarian, participative, transformational and transactional.

                                            ***

How do we prepared the task? We divided the leadership within our team, and create a Fakebook in pairs, and them we send it to the star. So we put all the things together although we didnt meet this week. Now I´m gonna show you the pictures that were taken the Big day with Clara as a Star and Ana Isable as a “Star partner”.

There we are!

We have learnt about the different kinds of leadership, and especially , how to use a new tool called Fakebook!!
We have improved our coordination as a group and plannification this week, and we all have some good times as allways.

See you!!

I'm the Facilitator an you know it!

Hello guys! I’m Marta López.

Once more and as last time I’m here being the facilitator of my group, it was a great week as a facilitator.

To start, the task for this week was to create a Fakebook profile pretending to be teachers of a primary school who want to be headteachers; but that’s not all, on the profile we owed defend our position as headteacher with a leadership (authoritarian leaders, participative leaders, transactional leaders and transformational leaders), so we had to create four different profiles on Fakebook one for each leadership.

So we divided the leadership so that in pairs create a different profile from the others. Thus the profiles would be created as quickly as possible. So the distribution was the following:

Authoritarian - Marta and Marina

Participative - Noelia and Holly

Transactional - Paula and Clara

Transformational - Ángela and Elena

The reason we divided the leadership was because we thought that it was not necessary meet up because we just have to find some information about the leadership and then create de profile in Fakebook so we didn’t meet up. In certain way that was good because sometimes we can’t meet together and we also have to split the group and the work and we can’t work together. But apart from that we meet up all weeks.

As we knew that our star Clara had to study our profiles, I made sure that they were all made on Friday, as my colleague Clara wanted them for study them better for the day of the exposition (Monday).

I’m very proud of my group, they have worked very well and they have worked very quickly for the best of our star. I thank each of them for work as well as we have done both in group and individually.

Hope you enjoyed reading our blog, but unfortunately we have reached the end of this course.

And just one comment to my colleagues, thanks for working so good and all moments we have had while we were creating all the tasks. Thank you very much.

See you soon!

Have no fear, the Translator is here!

Hello everybody, it´s Holly here once again with another post! This time I´m the translator for my group. You know the drill: I have to choose the five words from this weeks activity that stand out and that are most important.
This is probably going to be the my last ever post because we are at the end of our course, and all we have left really are our exams. I must say it has  been a pleasure posting on here weekly and talking to you all, and I really do hope you like our posts.
Fakebook

Fakebook is an online tool that is mostly used for class activities. It is a site where people can create their own profile of an imaginary, made-up, or real person, and write whatever they want about them. The information they give doesn’t necessarily have to be true, it can all be a lie (hence the name FAKEbook; because it is nine times out of ten all fake data); just to use in a task or activity for school or University.

Authoritarian leaders

Authoritarian leaders are those who like to control everything and make sure all of the employees are doing their jobs properly and not breaking the rules; showing no sympathy for these whatsoever. They feel better when it´s them that make all the important decisions and they prefer when their workers are loyal.

Participative leaders

Participative leaders are those who take pride in their work, believe that employees should be treated and spoken to correctly and with manners, and aspire to take part in activities that they think will be for the better of their surroundings; moreover, these type of leaders like to make a difference in any way they can, and strongly disbelieve in the expression “all for one, and one for all”; this means that, say they owned a large company, if the employees were to ever make a mistake, the leader wouldn’t blame it all on the workers, but he/she would take most of the fall because they are the leader and it´s his/her fault the employees made the mistake in the first place.

Transactional leaders

Transactional leaders are those who depend on two different things: one is the work to be done, and two is that the people doing the work get some little “reward” out of it. It´s like a balance; the leader has jobs to be done, so they employ workers to do it, but then they balance their work time with the things he will be giving back; such as a place to stay and full security for the employees, just for doing the work the leader wants done.

Transformational leaders

Transformational leaders are those who base their beliefs on many different concepts, such as morality, dignity, etc. But the most important is LOVE; these types of leaders think that love is the key to good leadership. Love is a very strong and powerful feeling that is capable of making anybody change their ways; after all, “the most powerful leaders in history are remembered not for their positions, wealth, and number of publications or position but for their unconditional love for others”.

Curator farmer by Paula

Hi everyone!

This course is finishing!!! This is my last post, and my role consits on being the curator farmer this week. So, we have been working on the different types of leadership, that is, participative, transactional, authoritarian and transformational. We have made four profiles on fakebook, one per each type of leadership. Furthermore, in this activity we had to imagine that we were teachers and we wanted to become the headteacher so, in the profiles of fakebook we had to explain each leadership and why each one was good to vote for and why the others were bad to vote for.

Moreover, my work has been colleting all the references of the websites that we have been working with and reflecting it in a mind map in the pearltrees of KC&CO. Also, in the pearltrees you can find the four fakebooks with the four different aspirants to leaders.

I have to say that it is the second time that I am the curator farmer and I like the role, because collecting all the references which we are being working with let me explore more and think how I could organize everything in the activity in order to make it clear in the mind map and so on.

So, here is the mind map finished http://www.pearltrees.com/keepcalmandkeeporganized/task-11-leadership/id14232201 , I hope you like it.

Finally, I just have to say that it has been a pleasure being part of this blog, it have taken us a lot of time, and we have learnt so much with it!!!!!

Kind regards,

Paula

Vote for transformational leader!!

Hello again! Yes, this is Clara and for the third time I have been the star!!

This week I didn’t know what I had to do with my role because what we were going to do on Friday morning was a surprise, so, I didn’t know very well what to prepare or study. I decided then to do a list of the advantages and disadvantages of each leadership (transactional, transformational, participative and authoritarian) as well as read the paper uploaded in the Aula Virtual.
On Friday morning we were told to mix with other group, in my case with Platypus, and to answer some questions that the moderator team, Power teachers, had done.

According to my experience like the star, I have to say that on Friday morning, I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know what to expect, because when you already knows what you are going to do, you are more relaxed, but when everything is a surprise, you are more worried. However, once I have known what we were going to do, I felt calmer as I haven´t defended the transformational leader alone inasmuch Ana Isabel of the Platypus was my partner and defended this type of leader with me. Furthermore, working with this group was very easy because, when we knew what we had to do, everyone rapidly implemented and started to help us.
When we have finished the questions and we had to go downwards and answered the questions I was again nervous, because being in front of an audience always commands. Nevertheless, as time went, I felt more secure and relaxed and I won more confidence.

In accordance with the best couple in the debate, my group and I think that the best ones have been Gracia and Noelia (they have defended transformational leadership) owing to the fact that they have shown a lot of skill and they have defended their position with many solid arguments.
Finally, I would like to say that , in our opinion, the best two profiles of transformationals leadears have been the Itschool one and ours.

And now here you have the nine links of transformationals leaders:

And here you have our profiles:

I hope you liked our debates and remember, vote for transformational leader!!

Facilitator this week!!

Dear bloggers,

First of all I would love to give you some information about the
strategy that me -as the facilitator- I have carry on on this task, therefore, how do I have divided the tasks, solved problems, organize the content and so on...?

I am gonna tell you now!!!

Firstly, We start reading the steps given by the teacher in class, to undertand the task apart from her explanation within the class of School organization.
Then the task was called Coexistence plan, which involve a Role playing following the instructions done in class, each group invented a story of a conflictive situation placed in a Primary School. Those situations were interchanged between groups with in the class with the aim of doing a TV documentary (max 6 min) where the problem could be well explained and the School leader team explain how the coexistence plan could help to them to improve or solve the problem. The documentaries were watched in the big group session on last Monday as the journalist explain in her post.

So, making our strategy clear, We search for information about the coexistence plan in order to know about it and get well informed picking several documents (that are shown in the post of the curator in apa style) therefore I divided the documentaries in equal parts for every one in the group and then we put in common our readings to get a whole idea of the coexistence plan meaning. Then we start drawing possible cases and designing our task all together in the meeting day, we looked at different solutions of the case, we all participate in the question the journal have done on the video, and in making the answer as well. Although the effort in memorizing an internalizing was done by the journal Angela and the head teacher Holly.

Once we had the information clear, the coexistence plan, the situation made by our mates, the questions, the answers, and so on we filmed the video in the garden of the Education Faculty . First of all, We divide some roles in the “journal staff” like the filmer, the director, the stylist, and the mixer who were filmed also in the video to get into a real documentary.
Then one of us was in charge of mixing all the shots taken by the filmer because we stay filming until we got the perfect Journal and head teacher’s performance. It was enjoyable because we laughed easily  Despite we repeated the performance until we got bored was worthy at the ed we got the result we want.

That is the strategy whole process, hope you have good comments about it, but we know there are several points of view when doing our work, I picked this one because is the most effective.
I must say that in case this strategy didn’t work I would have carried out another one.

Hope you enjoyed and see our video that it is in our youtube account called “Keep calm and keep organized”.
Enjoy it.
