Order in the work!

Hello, I am Clara Pérez and this week I have been the facilitator of my group in the task “Summary Video”. Firstly, the roles of this week have been the following ones:

-Clara: Facilitator

-Ángela: Journalist

- Elena: Analyst

- Marta: Translator

- Marina: Curator-farmer

- Noelia: Star

- Holly: Helper

- Paula: Helper

As facilitator, your functions are to distribute and organize the work of every member of the group and to guarantee that the whole group work properly. Furthermore, the facilitator is the key person of the group and if there is any problem he or she is the one who has to solve it. For this reason, this week I have felt in some kind as if I were the boss of a company (for example a company that sells computers). I have felt like this inasmuch, as the bosses of the companies do, I have ordered to each member of the group what she had to do so that our company (I mean, our group) did the whole task correctly. What is more, you have to take some decisions that are not to the liking of the whole group. 

This week’s activity was about summarize what we have learnt until now in School Organization in a video and we had to do mainly two tasks in order to carry out this activity: the outline of the video and the video itself (we didn't have to read or look for something, only remember what we have learnt and transfer it into a video). The group gathered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, because, as we are eight people,it is vey difficult  to get together in the same day and, moreover, the video took us more that we had imagined. My strategy this week has been the following one:

-On Monday, we decided that, in order to do the video, we will use Moovly, owing to the fact that it is a very complete program and it is not very difficult to manage it. 

- On Tuesday, I ordered (by whatsapp because I wasn’t be able to go to the meeting) that Marta were the one that started the video since she manages very well computer’s programs and I believed that she could do it perfectly. Meanwhile, the rest of the group that was on the meeting, Paula, Noelia and Marina did the script of the video.

-On Wednesday, Ángela, Elena, Holly and me changed a little bit the script and, once we modificated it, we continued with the video.

-On Friday, as we have already corrected the script, we only had to finish the video and add the finishing touches.

Finally, my last decision this week has been that every member of the group have to upload its post on Monday afternoon or Monday night because we always have some kind of problems when we upload the posts on Tuesday night and we end going to sleep very late.

In a nutshell, the role of facilitator is not an easy one due to the fact that you have to look for a good strategy . In addition, you have to face up with eight different opinions and sometimes, take decisions that  some people of the group don't like. Despite this, I am very pleased with my group, because, in my opinion,  they have done their best and worked very hard until the last minute.
